Well, I know up to now this is a really chaotic blog.... Hope it will be more structured on day... but one think should already be clear... This Blog is about dirty Mining... Well, time to recomend another page with the same topic... but in a structured way... (-;

Most consumers don't know where the gold in their products comes from, or how it is mined. Gold mining is a dirty industry: it can displace communities, contaminate drinking water, hurt workers, and destroy pristine environments.

Well, as I guess it will be a lot of work to establish a good working mining blog which relates people interested in this topic.
First of all I have to find more bloggers interested in mining... Well, today I was sucessful.
A guy en Cajamarca seems to write regularly about the situation over there ... Yanacocha, the gold and the native population....


Unos 300 campesinos de las comunidades aledañas a la minera Yanacocha, encabezados por el alcalde de Huambocancha Baja, Gómer Vargas, acatan hoy un paro de 24 horas en oposición a la expansión minera y en rechazo a la minería en las zonas de cuencas.
Los manifestantes bloquearon por varias horas la carretera Cajamarca%u2013Bambamarca, a la altura del kilómetro 4.5, impidiendo el paso de vehículos de la minera hacia el campamento.

Vereinbart wurde auch, eine lateinamerikanische Minenorganisation (Minersur) aus der Taufe zu heben. Dieses Projekt soll der lateinamerikanischen Integration dienen. Die jeweils bestehenden Ressourcen sollen sich gegenseitig ergänzen, um die jeweilige nationale Souveränität und Unabhängigkeit zu stärken.
